JOB INFORMATION:
Summary

We are in search of a dedicated Billing and Collections Specialist for our Billing Center.

In this role, you will be responsible for completing various special projects as assigned by the Billing Center Manager (BCM) or Supervisor (BCS), collaborating closely with them to ensure all tasks are executed effectively and efficiently.

Compensation begins at $15 per hour.

Typical schedule is Monday to Friday with flexible hours between 7 AM and 5 PM.

Remote work is available after successful completion of in-office training and meeting performance expectations with management approval.

Applicants must reside in the US and within a reasonable distance of a Rotech location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Review all manual re-billing audits for accuracy and submit to the supervisor for approval prior to posting, ensuring timely claim release.

2. Communicate with payers, patients, or relevant locations as necessary.

3. Document all activities in iWorkQ, including notes and patient information in eIntake.

4. Maintain effective communication with locations and payers.

5. Process all adjustments within iWorkQ.

6. Update doctor and insurance information in eIntake.

7. Report any payer trends that hinder payment to the BCC Supervisor.

8. Address emails from the BCC Supervisor/BCM within 48 hours.

9. Analyze patient information in IMBS and eIntake to identify reasons for unpaid claims.

10. Assess patient data in IMBS to determine the validity of adjustments.

11. Complete special projects as assigned by the BCD with specific instructions.

12. Collaborate with the BCC Supervisor and Team Lead to resolve payer and patient issues.

13. Perform additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Employment is contingent upon:

- Background investigation (company-wide)

- Drug screening (if applicable)

- Valid driver's license in the state of residence with a clean driving record (if applicable)

Education and/or Experience:

- High school diploma or GED equivalent.

- One to three years of relevant experience in a team-oriented setting.

- Experience in the medical field and administrative record management is preferred.

- Strong background in customer service.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

- Ability to accurately perform basic mathematical calculations.

- Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written.

- General understanding of federal payer program regulations and guidelines.

- Ability to interpret various forms of communication (verbal, non-verbal, written, listening, and visual).

- Familiarity with medical billing practices and reimbursement processes is preferred.

- Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.

- Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

- Ability to multi-task while paying attention to detail.

- Self-motivated, organized, and possess strong time-management and problem-solving skills.

- Demonstrate a sense of urgency and responsiveness to physicians, location staff, and patients.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Physical Demands:

- May require lifting and carrying office equipment.

- Requires sitting, walking, standing, talking, or listening.

- Requires close vision for reading small print on computer screens and paperwork.

Machines, Equipment, and Technical Abilities:

- Proficient in email communication and internet navigation.

- Familiarity with Microsoft applications, including Word and Excel.

- Experience with office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, printers, and computers/tablets.

- Knowledge of the IMBS system.
