Access Services is seeking a Billing Specialist to enhance our finance team. This role will facilitate the management of billing and collections for Access Services' Intellectual Disability and Autism programs, ensuring accurate reporting capabilities.

An ideal candidate will demonstrate independence, strong organizational skills, adaptability to new training or evolving requirements, a commitment to our mission, and expertise in the medical billing sector.


Position Overview:

Supervise and coordinate all billing activities for the Intellectual Disabilities and Autism (IDA) division's programs, ensuring precision and dependability.

This position requires meticulous oversight of billing data, thorough tracking, and management of IDA billings, along with proficient handling of denials and client authorizations.

Achieve cross-training in various billing domains to provide comprehensive support across multiple service areas.

Enhance operational efficiency and uphold the financial integrity of the IDA programs' billing processes through collaborative efforts and a dedication to continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities:
Collect billing data from the IDA division's programs.

Input information for the IDA programs' billing, ensuring all entries are accurate and complete to facilitate precise billing.

Meticulously track and maintain billing records for all IDA programs.

Proactively monitor and document billing denials, identifying underlying issues. Collaborate with relevant programs to address and resolve the causes of denials.


Input and manage client authorization data in the billing software and dedicated spreadsheets with exceptional attention to detail.

Address any discrepancies promptly.

Complete cross-training in various billing roles outside of the IDA division. Serve as a proxy biller for various service areas as needed.

Effectively learn and proficiently utilize EVOLV, the agency's Electronic Health Records (EHR) system. Maintain expertise in all related billing systems.

Contribute to operational efficiency and uphold the financial integrity of the IDA programs' billing operations through collaborative efforts and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Candidates must meet all qualifying and ongoing job criteria, including background checks and clearances.

Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate degree in accounting or finance is preferred.

Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years of billing experience in social services and/or healthcare settings is required. Back-end billing experience is highly preferred.

Skills and Abilities:
Exceptional organizational and communication skills, both oral and written.

Ability to effectively engage with all levels of staff and manage multiple tasks.

Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with billing software systems.

Ability to learn and independently manage job responsibilities.

Competence in navigating network drives and basic hardware troubleshooting.

Working Conditions:
Work in a standard office environment utilizing desktop computer equipment daily.

Ability to lift or move items associated with sedentary and light work (up to 20 lbs.).

Travel to offsite locations may be required.

Compensation and Benefits:
The compensation for this role starts at $24.05/hour, with potential increases based on education and experience.

This is a full-time position during regular business hours, Monday through Friday.

The Billing Specialist is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, subject to the organization's policy and supervisor approval after training.
