Position Summary:
The role involves conducting medical evaluations for donors, assessing their eligibility, and managing any reactions that may occur during the donation process. This position operates in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and FDA regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure donor satisfaction through effective communication and responsiveness to their needs.
  • Evaluate donor eligibility by assessing healthy individuals for plasmapheresis and immunization procedures, adhering to regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Provide clear explanations of informed consent related to plasmapheresis and immunization, detailing the procedures, risks, and potential side effects.
  • Address donor inquiries and ensure they have the opportunity to decline participation.
  • Conduct physical assessments of donors and promptly review data to confirm their suitability.
  • Assist in donor room operations, including performing plasmapheresis and whole blood procedures, ensuring donor safety, and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Respond to any acute reactions from donors during procedures, providing immediate care as needed.
  • Administer immunizations according to established protocols and monitor donor responses.
  • Offer confidential counseling to donors who do not meet eligibility criteria.
  • Maintain the emergency medical kit and equipment to ensure readiness and compliance with standards.
  • Review test results and consult with the medical director on any abnormal findings or incidents.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited healthcare program such as nursing or physician assistant studies. EMTs may be considered with advanced experience.
  • Strong patient assessment skills and the ability to manage emergencies calmly and effectively.
  • Current licensure in the state of operation.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, attention to detail, and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Maintenance of valid licenses and successful completion of medical credential evaluations.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and maneuver weights up to fifty pounds.
  • Proficiency in using computer software, including DMS and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel as required.
  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens in the workplace.
  • Physical capability to perform CPR and assist in emergency situations.
  • Regularly required to stand and use hands for various tasks.
