Position Summary:
The role involves conducting medical evaluations for donors, assessing their eligibility, and managing any reactions during the donation process. Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices and FDA regulations is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure donor satisfaction through effective communication and responsiveness to their needs.
  • Evaluate donor eligibility by assessing healthy individuals for plasmapheresis and immunization procedures, in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Provide clear explanations of the plasmapheresis process, including potential risks and immunization details.
  • Address donor inquiries and ensure they understand their right to decline participation.
  • Conduct physical assessments of donors and review data promptly to confirm their suitability.
  • Assist in donor room operations, ensuring safety during procedures and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Respond to any immediate needs of donors experiencing adverse reactions.
  • Administer immunizations as per guidelines and monitor donor responses.
  • Offer confidential counseling to donors who do not meet eligibility criteria.
  • Maintain emergency medical supplies and equipment to ensure readiness.
  • Consult with the Center physician regarding any unusual test results or medical incidents.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited healthcare program (nursing or physician assistant) is required; EMTs with advanced experience may also qualify.
  • Strong patient assessment skills are essential.
  • Ability to manage emergencies calmly and effectively.
  • Current licensure in the state of operation is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, attention to detail, and effective interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities are required.
  • Must maintain valid licenses and pass medical credential evaluations.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and move items weighing up to fifty pounds.
  • Proficiency in using computer software, including DMS and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel as needed.
  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens is a possibility.
  • Physical capacity to perform CPR and assist in emergency situations.
  • Regularly required to stand and use hands for tasks.
