REQUIREMENTS:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory. A minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting or medical office is preferred. The candidate must possess strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills in a professional context. Effective time management skills are essential to prepare the workspace for a high-demand environment. A genuine commitment to contributing positively to the healthcare facility is required. Exceptional multi-tasking capabilities and a solid understanding of medical terminology are necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) is expected. Excellent phone etiquette and outstanding customer service skills are a must.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Opens the office by checking for messages, powering on computers, and coordinating with the answering service.
- Closes the office by redirecting calls to the answering service and managing outgoing mail.
- Answers phone lines promptly and professionally.
- Welcomes patients and visitors upon their arrival.
- Accurately inputs registration and insurance details into the system.
- Ensures all necessary signatures are obtained on patient medical records.
- Confirms insurance details for services required on the day of the appointment.
- Performs various administrative and clerical tasks as needed.
- Verifies insurance benefits effectively.
- Enters patient data into the computer system.
- Handles patient payment collections.
- Acquires knowledge of all aspects of admitting and scheduling to enhance the efficiency of the Business Office.
