Job Summary

The Field Merchandiser will work closely with the Merchandise team and the Store Operations team to develop and execute seasonal store merchandising plans. This role will focus on creating a compelling store environment and driving sales through creative marketing, activations, and seasonal changes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visual Merchandising Strategy: Execute and maintain the visual merchandising strategy to protect the Brand DNA, ensuring it is reflected in product placement and visual merchandising displays on the retail floors.
  • Seasonal Floor Set Implementation: Manage, communicate, and maintain the working calendar for seasonal floor set implementation through partnering with the store operations team and opening dates.
  • Training and Development: Partner with the Retail Training Manager to ensure Store Operations teams are trained on visual standards and merchandising best practices.
  • Merchandising Tactics: Ensure all merchandising tactics are created and distributed to retail stores to support campaigns, activations, and business objectives.
  • Inventory Management: Support buying and operational teams with inventory management by identifying products that need reallocation and taking appropriate action.
  • Asset Tracking: Maintain an asset tracking tool for all fixtures, tools, props, and signage.
  • Requests and Repairs: Respond to and track requests for signage, repairs, or replacement of assets.
  • Photo Journal: Maintain a photo journal of all retail windows, displays, and floor sets.
  • Peak Time Support: Required to work in stores during peak times.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Requires 3+ years of retail and/or merchandising experience, preferably within the Outdoor Industry.
  • Leadership and Communication: Ability to work independently and manage teams or individuals to follow established merchandising standards and decision-making while maintaining strong relationships.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft products; experience with NetSuite and/or RTP a plus.
  • Organization and Attention to Detail: Must be well organized and detail-oriented.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Travel: Must be able to travel from store to store throughout the Aspen Snowmass area and occasionally outside the valley.

Supervision and Work Environment

  • Supervision: This position does not supervise others.
  • Work Environment: Ability to stand, walk, or be on your feet for extended periods of time. Kneeling and bending may be required.
  • Physical Demands: Regularly work indoors with no adverse conditions. Some positions require exposure to outdoor elements or a combination of both indoors and outdoors and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces.
  • Lifting and Moving: Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50).
