Essential Skills: GAAP / Analytical Skills / Accounting Expertise

A leading firm is seeking a Financial Reporting Fund Accounting Associate with a minimum of 2 years' experience. This role offers a defined career path and a hybrid working environment in Central Charlotte.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review quarterly fund-level financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and ILPA standards.
  • Collaborate with third-party fund administrators and investment accounting teams for monthly closing procedures.
  • Review workpapers, fee calculations, and investor statements.
  • Conduct quarterly compliance assessments for secured debt.
  • Oversee annual audits of various investment vehicles.
  • Manage financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting processes.
  • Assist external tax teams with information requests and data analysis.
  • Serve as a liaison for REIT compliance between asset managers and tax consultants.
  • Prepare quarterly variance reports at the fund level.
  • Provide transaction support for the Investments team.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical and technical accounting skills.
  • Familiarity with GAAP and fair value accounting principles.
  • A collaborative mindset, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Daily interaction with internal and external third-party vendors.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in commercial real estate or fund accounting.
  • Familiarity with Yardi and/or Workiva is advantageous.
  • Educational Background: Master’s degree.
  • Professional Certification: CPA or equivalent.
