Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fund Accountant to join our team at Quarterra. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for assisting with the accounting, reporting, and financial control functions for our single-family real estate investments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entry input and variance analysis preparation.
  • Perform single-family rental property accounting functions, including cash entries, interest and debit entries, intercompany entries, and more.
  • Ensure all receivables, receipts, and payable items are validated, and participate in and monitor processing of payables and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Import invoices into payment processing software and prepare wires for payments as needed.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring they balance to underlying support and investigation.
  • Prepare property-level consolidated financial statements.
  • Work closely with third-party property managers to review monthly intercompany and equity activity.
  • Timely completion of month-end close and all closing tasks.
  • Understand, perform, and maintain functions in compliance with internal controls and business processes.
  • Analyze account balances and activity, providing explanations for variances.
  • Prepare monthly capital call and distribution notices.
  • Participate in special projects as deemed necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, with prior experience in fund management, property management, or commercial real estate development preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
  • Thorough understanding of accounts payable and documentation compliance.
  • In-depth experience with General Ledger, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in accounting software such as Sage CRE, JD Edwards, Yardi, and QuickBooks.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, own projects, and effectively communicate project status to necessary departments.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions

This is a primarily sedentary office position that requires the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move up to 25 pounds. Finger dexterity is necessary.
