Assistant Manager Job Description

As a SONIC Drive-In Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurants. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the General Manager in managing daily operations, providing quality food in a clean, safe, and efficient manner, and delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hiring and Training: Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of Great People who are ready to serve a SuperSONIC experience to every guest.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Ensure that every guest leaves the lot satisfied every time by maintaining high standards of food quality, service, and cleanliness.
  • Team Development: Help employees understand the big picture and their role by sharing the 'why' behind tasks, celebrating team successes, and coaching for better performance.
  • Shift Management: Create an upbeat, positive atmosphere during shifts that makes work fun, while managing the majors (food and paper, labor, and guest service).
  • Safety and Compliance: Maintain and enforce SONIC safety and sanitation standards, and relentlessly comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

  • Leadership and Communication: Excellent leadership and communication skills to motivate and guide your team.
  • High Standards: High standards for self and the team, with a positive attitude, especially during rushes or stressful situations.
  • Resiliency: Ability to try different approaches to solve problems and work to get better every day.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
