Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC is seeking a Senior Product Manager specializing in Hydronic Systems.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Product Manager for Hydronic Systems will be responsible for leading the development of HVAC products tailored for the hydronic market. This role involves formulating and executing product development strategies, overseeing product launches, and managing the product life cycle. The manager will utilize market research, independent studies, and customer feedback from various stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, architects, and building owners, to define effective product strategies. Additionally, the manager will provide design support, application assistance, and training related to hydronic systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy Development
- Act as the Senior Product Manager for hydronic systems while developing expertise across related products.
- Lead cross-functional teams in the design and development of innovative hydronic products and services in collaboration with global Mitsubishi Electric factories and other suppliers.
- Provide detailed product specifications to engineering teams, highlighting essential features for new product development and guiding future design directions.
- Oversee the creation of maintenance and design tools.
- Review and develop technical training materials to promote the hydronic product line.
- Conduct market research to gather competitive insights and enhance the METUS product portfolio.
- Establish partnerships with leading manufacturers to align global products with US market demands.
Design and Application Support
- Offer design, technical, and application support to mechanical engineers for hydronic products.
- Conduct peer reviews of existing designs, providing insights and technical information to ensure successful implementation of Mitsubishi Electric technologies.
- Develop application software support tools and programs to address market needs and enhance the specification of Mitsubishi solutions.
- Create engineering application white papers to tackle specific business unit challenges, establishing oneself as a subject matter expert in hydronic systems.
- Generate and review technical documentation, including application notes, manuals, schematic drawings, and engineering data.
- Lead the development and implementation of training programs focused on hydronic systems for engineers, distributors, and contractors.
Product Launch and Life Cycle Management
- Provide documentation to support the development of new products, including trend analysis, sales projections, and market data analysis.
- Act as the liaison for product specifications and life cycle management activities with factories.
- Manage the introduction of new products to the market, including the creation of launch guides, training materials, and sales strategies.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project timelines, ensuring resource allocation aligns with product goals.
- Track and report on product development initiatives to company leadership.
- Supervise existing product tools and assist in the development of new tools.
- Oversee the selection and training of product specialists for application support.
Subject Matter Expertise
- Serve as the subject matter expert for hydronic products, identifying gaps and opportunities for enhancement.
- Assist engineering teams with technical issues and review application support materials.
- Mentor future hydronic engineers and product managers, facilitating knowledge transfer and technical development.
- Travel as needed for company meetings and training.
Qualifications:
- 7-12 years of experience in mechanical HVAC, including design and energy analysis.
- Preferred qualifications include a P.E. license, LEED A.P., and CEM accreditation.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience with commercial domestic hot water distribution systems.
- Familiarity with software such as Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, EnergyPro, and EQuest.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT.
- Strong communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.
- Experience in the HVAC/hydronics industry is required, with product management experience preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage tight deadlines.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary for this position is expected to range from $120,000 to $165,000 annually, depending on various factors such as market location and individual qualifications. The total compensation package may include additional elements such as target bonuses and discretionary awards, along with participation in a 401(k) plan and company-sponsored medical, dental, and vision insurance.
