Job Title: Mathematics Educator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Mathematics Educator to join our team at the Alabama Department of Education. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching mathematics to secondary school students and contributing to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach mathematics to secondary school students, developing and implementing lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, ensuring alignment with state and national standards.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social, emotional, and academic well-being among students.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, staying up-to-date with best practices in mathematics education and pedagogy.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid teaching certification or eligibility for certification in the State of Alabama.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and open communication.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using technology to support teaching and learning, including educational software and digital tools.
Working Conditions:

The Mathematics Educator will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, collaborating with colleagues and working with students of varying ages and abilities. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team, communicate clearly and respectfully, and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.

This is a full-time position, with a standard work schedule of 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. The Mathematics Educator will be required to work collaboratively with colleagues, participate in professional development opportunities, and contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment.
