Residential Support Specialist

Join our team as a Residential Support Specialist and play a vital role in providing supportive services to adults with serious mental illness. As a key member of our residential team, you will ensure a clean and organized environment, support residents in their individual recovery goals, and assist with medication administration as ordered by a licensed medical professional.
Key Responsibilities- Understand and implement Oregon rules regarding Home and Community Based mental health services, ensuring residents' maximum level of freedom and personal rights.
- Assist clients with daily living skills, such as keeping appointments and completing household tasks.
- Support clients in achieving individual goals outlined in their person-centered plans and Residential Service Plans.
- Oversee house safety, including fire drills, security at night, and resolving disputes among residents.
- Ensure the facility is clean, orderly, and safe at all times.
- Proactively support healthy eating and an active lifestyle for program participants.
- Maintain the cleanliness of food storage areas, common areas, and employee office.
- Complete all shift duties required by each individual facility.
- Assist residents with completion of deep cleaning and laundry.
- Complete contraband checks as allowed by resident and OARs.
- Distribute medication in accordance with physicians' orders.
- Document all interactions with residents during each shift according to policy and Oregon Administrative Rules.
- Document all critical incidents in a timely manner and notify supervisor immediately of any critical incident.
- Adhere to all New Narrative policies and procedures.
- Adhere to the NASW Code of Ethics.
- Must be 18 years of age and capable of implementing emergency procedures and disaster plans.
- QMHA credentials preferred.
- Must undergo a minimum of 16 hours pre-service orientation, including a review of house rules, policies, and procedures.
- Must be tested for tuberculosis within two weeks of date of hire.
- Must have a criminal records clearance through the State Mental Health Division prior to starting employment.
New Narrative residential operations are an essential part of our overall continuum of service and supports. As a member of our residential team, you will help to ensure best practices, positive clinical outcomes, and quality of services.
