Position Overview

The Senior Commercial Credit Analyst plays a crucial role in assessing the financial viability of businesses and individuals seeking commercial credit. This position involves making informed credit recommendations to lending officers and preparing comprehensive loan presentation packages as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties of this role include:
  • Conducting thorough analyses of loan data for new, renewal, and existing loans, utilizing information from credit bureaus and other financial entities.
  • Providing preliminary credit recommendations to loan officers based on detailed evaluations.
  • Creating spreadsheets, reports, and summaries to assist financial officers in decision-making regarding loans.
  • Preparing presentation materials for Loan Committee meetings.
  • Ensuring compliance with basic underwriting guidelines throughout the credit evaluation process.
  • Managing and overseeing financial information files to maintain up-to-date reports and statements on customer accounts.
  • Performing credit inquiries as requested by the financial institution.
  • Regularly reviewing and updating loan files to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Offering technical support and guidance to loan officers across the organization.
  • Staying informed about new and evolving analysis procedures and underwriting standards.
  • Adhering to the bank's credit policies and collaborating effectively with the credit department.
  • Assisting in the preparation of required Board of Directors reports.
  • Maintaining compliance tracking as mandated.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience as a Commercial Credit Analyst, with a strong background in analyzing complex credit transactions.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing applications.
