Strategic Governance Leader

motherhouse collective is seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to serve on our Board of Directors. As a Board Member, you will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction and ensuring the long-term success of our organization.
Our organization provides essential support to working and stay-at-home mothers by offering co-working spaces, childcare, and professional development programs, creating a community that fosters both personal and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Director to guide the strategic vision and programming of motherhouse collective, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission to empower mothers.
- Leverage your networks and expertise to secure funding through corporate sponsorships, individual donations, and grant opportunities. Maintain a Give/Get donation commitment of $2,000 annually.
- Advocate for motherhouse collective's mission and the needs of working families in the community. Use your voice and influence to amplify our story through public engagement and networking.
- Lead one peer-led discussion group per quarter, contributing to community-building among our members.
- Serve on at least one committee aligned with your skills and interests, contributing to areas such as:
- Corporate sponsors and donor stewardship
- Member Engagement
- Volunteer Engagement
- Educator Engagement
- Marketing Strategy
- Strategic Operations
- Financial and Board Oversight
Commitment:
- Must be a paid member of motherhouse collective.
- Serve a 2-year term.
- Attend at least three Board meetings per year. We host one meeting per quarter.
- Participate in one committee related to interests and speciality. Committees meet at least once a quarter, maybe more if decided by committee.
- Lead one peer-led discussion group per quarter.
- Able to dedicate 8 hours a month to the role.
Desired Qualifications:
- Passion for the mission of motherhouse collective and supporting learning, working and stay-at-home mothers.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: fundraising, corporate sponsorship, member engagement, marketing, finance, strategic operations, or educational programs.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
