Position Overview:

This role involves conducting MRI examinations following established protocols and procedures, utilizing independent judgment to guarantee the highest diagnostic quality and superior patient care. The technologist will also assist Radiologists during specialized procedures, manage necessary documentation, prepare patients, operate MRI equipment, and perform associated clinical and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct MRI procedures as prescribed, ensuring exceptional quality and efficiency.
  • Guide patients to the examination room and assist with any necessary preparations.
  • Complete all required documentation to facilitate prompt MRI service delivery.
  • Clarify MRI procedures to alleviate patient concerns and inquiries.
  • Administer intravenous contrast as needed.
  • Implement radiation safety measures to protect patients and staff.
  • Finalize related paperwork and secure interpretations from radiologists.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure optimal machine performance and report any issues to management.
  • Maintain a focus on customer service, interacting with patients, staff, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution; or six months to one year of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
  • ARRT (R) (MR) certification and licensure in Connecticut are mandatory.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience with all types of MRI procedures.
  • Experience with Siemens and GE equipment is preferred.
