Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at Retina Consultants of Texas. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will be responsible for answering incoming patient calls, scheduling appointments, and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Answer incoming patient calls and schedule appointments in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and colleagues alike
  • Triage patient calls to determine the best course of action for scheduling needs
  • Collect and verify accurate insurance information for patients
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless communication and patient care
  • Document patient interactions and scheduling information accurately and efficiently
  • Escalate patient concerns to leadership as needed
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years of customer service, medical scheduling, or ophthalmic technician experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and computer skills
  • Ability to exercise judgment and decision-making
  • Working knowledge of insurance terminology and basic proficiency in MS Office and EMR
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
