Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Services Specialist to join our team at the University of Houston's Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). As a key member of our staff, you will provide exceptional administrative support to our patients, internal and external visitors, and medical staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a variety of administrative services, including scheduling appointments, completing required documentation, and relaying information to patients.
  • Communicate with customers in a courteous, professional, and cooperative manner, ensuring a positive patient experience.
  • Accurately verify and enter/update patient demographics, service eligibility, and payment information.
  • Assist patients with check-in and check-out processes, including accurately inputting data, posting charges and payments/co-payments, and searching/retrieving data.
  • Monitor patient services mailbox for voice mails and email inquiries.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. One year of directly job-related experience preferred. Basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and simple mathematical functions required.
