Job Title: Correctional Program Coordinator

Are you a licensed clinical counseling professional looking to make a difference in the lives of incarcerated individuals? Do you have a passion for substance abuse counseling and rehabilitation? We are seeking a qualified Correctional Program Coordinator to join our team at the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.

Job Summary:

The Correctional Program Coordinator will provide alcohol and drug counseling services to inmates on assigned caseloads. This includes completing intake assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge planning. The ideal candidate will have experience in substance abuse counseling and rehabilitation, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide alcohol and drug counseling services to inmates on assigned caseloads
  • Complete intake assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge planning
  • Coordinate with other treatment services to provide individualized treatment planning
  • Monitor attendance and participation progress of inmates in substance abuse programs
  • Review case files and terminate program participation as needed
  • Provide continuing care planning and intervene in crisis situations
  • Develop and coordinate substance abuse programming for inmates as assigned
  • Monitor activities of volunteers and facilitate support and fellowship meetings
  • Participate in program quality assurance activities
  • Attend seminars and conferences
Requirements:
  • Current certification or credentials in one of the following: Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II (LCDC II), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor III (LCDC III), Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC), Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), Professional Clinical Counselor (PCC), Professional Counselor (PC), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Physician, Licensed Psychologist, Registered Nurse, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, or Licensed Independent Marriage & Family Therapist
  • Experience in substance abuse counseling and rehabilitation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
