Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Site Safety Officer to join our team at Recon Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our employees and contractors working on environmental remediation, geotechnical, and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective health and safety programs and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees and contractors on health and safety procedures and protocols.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to integrate health and safety into project plans and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of health and safety data, including incident reports, training records, and compliance documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, and implement changes as necessary.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in construction safety, with a focus on environmental remediation and geotechnical projects.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective health and safety programs and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, contractors, and clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate incidents and accidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CSP, CHST, or other accredited professional designations.
  • 30-hour OSHA construction safety class or equivalent.
  • 8-hour Site Supervisor Health and Safety Compliance Course.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification.
