Job Title: Janitorial Team Lead

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Janitorial Team Lead to join our team at Newport Aquarium. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for leading a team of janitors and housekeepers to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance throughout the aquarium.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of janitors and housekeepers to ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the aquarium.
  • Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and excellent guest experience.
  • Provide training and coaching to team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with cleaning and maintenance standards.
  • Identify and report any maintenance or repair issues to the facilities manager.
  • Develop and implement procedures to ensure the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in a janitorial or housekeeping role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
