Job Title: Adjunct Instructor for Computer Aided Design

Edison State Community College is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor for Computer Aided Design to join our team.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced professional to teach Computer Aided Design courses to our students. As an Adjunct Instructor, you will be responsible for providing instruction and conducting classes in accordance with the philosophy of the college and within the scope of a defined course of study.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide instruction and conduct classes in accordance with the philosophy of the college and within the scope of a defined course of study.
  • Help students with coursework.
  • Perform such other related duties as the appropriate dean or the chief academic officer may assign for the good of the College.
  • Prepare, distribute, and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies.
  • Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote student learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
  • Submit final grades and all other required documents and reports according to established deadlines.
  • Utilize college learning management system (Blackboard) to create course content website.
  • Can participate in professional development activities.
  • Can serve on committees.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience with SolidWorks, Autodesk's AutoCAD, and Inventor Software.
  • Associate's Degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree.
Benefits:
  • Adjuncts are paid at a special contract hour rate of pay starting at $530 per contract hour.
  • Increases are given based on cumulative hours taught at the College.
  • Edison State Community College participates in the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS).
  • Based upon the Ohio Revised Code, 14% of an Edison State employee's gross salary is deposited into their individual STRS account.
  • The college contributes an additional 14% which is not figured into the employee's base salary.
  • Adjunct instructors are also eligible to participate in 403(b) tax deferred annuity which is not cost-shared by the college.
  • Edison State employees receive 100% of their instructional fees waived for any Edison State courses they take.
  • Dependents (spouse or children) of adjunct instructors at Edison State receive a partial waiver based upon the number of credit hours the instructor is teaching.
  • The college also provides an on-site fitness center to employees, students and the community at no charge.
