About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and curious Data Analyst to join our Data and Analytics team at UnitedHealth Group. As a Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in developing, creating, and supporting analytic solutions that drive business insights and inform strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with account managers to deliver data-driven solutions for pharmacy benefit operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of insights and recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain a variety of recurring and ad-hoc reports, leveraging expertise in SQL and SAS to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Explore data to identify patterns and insights, contributing to the continuous improvement of our reporting processes and driving business growth.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and validate business requirements, delivering solutions that meet expectations and drive business outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying knowledge to improve data management and analytics capabilities.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, with a strong background in data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with SAS EG, including proficiency in maintaining and developing SAS code, with a solid focus on PROC steps, DATA steps, and other key procedures.
  • Experience developing ad-hoc and recurring reports, with a strong understanding of data visualization tools such as Tableau and/or Power BI.
  • Intermediate proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write efficient and effective queries.
  • Experience working independently, self-assigning tasks, and prioritizing work to meet SLAs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience analyzing pharmacy claims data and other related PBM data sets, such as prior authorization and eligibility.
  • Experience streamlining processes to increase team efficiencies, with a focus on data management and analytics.
  • Knowledge of data governance and best practices in data management, with a strong understanding of data quality and integrity.
  • Familiarity with Python and/or cloud-based tools such as Databricks, with a strong understanding of data engineering and architecture.
