Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Lead Respiratory Therapist to join our team at HCA Florida Largo Hospital. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will be responsible for evaluating the respiratory needs of patients and developing/implementing their Respiratory Care Plan. Your expertise and passion for delivering high-quality patient care will make a significant impact on our patients' lives.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients' respiratory needs and develop/implement their Respiratory Care Plan.
  • Apply and operate acute care ventilators for continuous short and long-term mechanical ventilation.
  • Maintain accurate department and hospital records, including therapy information.
  • Set up and administer routine and complex respiratory therapy procedures for patients of all ages.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Completion of an AMA-approved respiratory care program (Associate Degree); Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, with critical care and intubation experience preferred.
  • Clear/active Florida license as Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required; New hires/transfers must obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required; New hires/transfers must obtain within 6 months of hire.
