$54.28 / hour, dependent on relevant experience.
Position Summary:
Provides essential assistance to surgeons during various surgical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Positions patients effectively using stabilizing equipment to ensure optimal exposure for surgical procedures while prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
2. Ensures clear visualization of the surgical site through appropriate techniques, including tissue manipulation, retraction, sponging, suctioning, and irrigation.
3. Applies suitable methods to achieve both temporary and permanent hemostasis.
4. Aids in closing body planes, applying wound dressings, and securing drainage systems.
5. Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
1. High School diploma or GED required. Completion of a Surgical Technologist program.
Certifications:
1. Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) by NBSTSA; Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) by NSAA; Surgical Assistant-Certified (SA-C) by ABSA. State registration as a Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist.
2. BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer is required prior to the start date. Certification must remain valid for at least sixty days post-hire.
