We are seeking a highly skilled Disability Access Coordinator to join our team at the City and County of San Francisco. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all City facilities and infrastructure are accessible to people with disabilities, in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure accessibility of City facilities and infrastructure
- Conduct accessibility surveys and inspections to identify and address barriers to access
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that new construction and renovation projects meet accessibility standards
- Provide training and guidance to City staff on accessibility requirements and best practices
- Develop and manage budgets for accessibility projects and initiatives
- Serve as a liaison with disability advocacy groups and other stakeholders to ensure that the City's accessibility efforts are responsive to community needs
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, civil engineering, or a related field
- At least 8 years of experience in accessibility consulting, architecture, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of ADA and other accessibility laws and regulations
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Master's degree in architecture, civil engineering, or a related field
- Professional certifications such as CASp or LEED
- Experience working with public transportation agencies or other government entities
