The Aguirre Law Firm, APC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Immigration Paralegal to join our team. As an Immigration Paralegal, you will play a critical role in supporting our attorneys in preparing and filing immigration cases, as well as providing exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and file immigration applications and supporting documents, including I-485, I-130, U-Visas, DACAs, I-601A, I-589, 42B, FOIAs, and Work Permits.
- Assist in processing mail and preparing and mailing out packages.
- Answer, screen, and forward phone calls in a professional manner and take detailed messages to assist and support the caseworkers.
- Provide clients with case status and provide timely responses to clients' questions.
- Work with our case management system by placing notes, reviewing tasks, data entry, etc.
- Closing files by scanning and archiving files in database system.
- Efficient communication with other case managers & attorneys regarding case issues.
- Travel to our Van Nuys office 1 day a week, or as needed, to assist with USCIS cases.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write Spanish fluently.
- 1 year Immigration Experience Required - 3 years of Immigration experience is Preferred.
- Ability to take initiative and problem solve.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent phone skills.
- Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Interpersonal skills and customer service skills required.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to type at least 45 wpm.
- Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, Excel, MS Outlook, internet proficient.
- Ability to occasionally lift large case files of an excess weight of 25 Lbs.
- Must be willing to travel to our Van Nuys Office once a week, or as needed.
- Ability to arrive punctually from Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM & - Work 1 Saturday per month.
- Competitive salary: $30.00 per hour.
