Cupertino, California, United States Apple Full time

Summary:

Role Overview:
At Apple, we transform innovative ideas into exceptional products and experiences. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to contribute to our mission. Our team is composed of dynamic and resourceful professionals who continuously redefine industries through our hardware products.

We are committed to innovation not only in our products but also in our practices, ensuring we leave a positive impact on the world.

Are you ready to be part of this journey? We are seeking a Hardware Engineering Program Manager (EPM) to lead the Camera Enabling Technologies team in the design and development of pioneering platforms and technology components that shape product architecture decisions.

The ideal candidate will showcase their engineering expertise by effectively guiding a dedicated, cross-functional engineering team through the definition and Proof of Concept of new imaging technologies and architectures for Apple products.

A successful candidate will have a proven history of leading teams in the development of complex hardware technologies while navigating through uncertainty.

This individual will possess a comprehensive understanding of technology development phases and will adeptly apply situational program management to organize, develop, and execute a program plan.

Key Responsibilities:
- Define project scope, manage resources, and establish milestones and timelines.
- Collaborate across functions to ensure project support and prioritization.
- Facilitate effective inter-team coordination and communication across global locations.
- Simplify complex technical subjects and distill key issues and risks into actionable insights for executive management.
- Engage in proactive risk management, effectively communicating status and challenges to the development team and Apple executives. Strong presentation and communication skills are essential.
- Willingness to travel internationally to support technology centers and vendor activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience in early technology development and consumer product life cycles.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exceptional program management and leadership capabilities: a rigorous and proactive approach to orchestrating program plans, estimating schedules, and defining and managing project objectives.

- In-depth technical engineering knowledge to effectively establish and manage projects, particularly during the early ambiguous definition phases, assess and mitigate technical risks, and critically evaluate engineering decisions.

- Proven ability to manage multiple global teams and vendors effectively.

- Ability to maintain focus and transparency in complex situations while keeping an eye on the broader picture and the demands of a fast-paced development cycle.

- Skilled in managing accountability without direct control, adept at identifying and prioritizing among competing issues.

- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge of imaging system design and/or camera component design and subcomponents.

Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base pay is just one part of our total compensation package, which is determined within a range. This structure allows for growth and development within your role.

The base pay range for this position is between $136,300 and $248,700, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Employees also have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

Additional Benefits:

Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a variety of discounted products and free services, and reimbursement for certain educational expenses related to career advancement at Apple.
