Job Description

As a Senior Hardware Engineer in our Camera Technologies group, you will play a key role in designing and developing the innovative technology that enables each generation of Apple products to produce photos even more incredible than the last.

You will design and develop groundbreaking ideas for everything involved in our camera systems, from sensor to lens, and collaborate with teams across Apple to research, design, develop, test, and qualify camera hardware for Apple products.

Together, we will craft a magical photography experience that redefines what millions of customers can expect from their cameras.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop camera hardware for Apple products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to research, design, develop, test, and qualify camera hardware
  • Lead the development of camera system design and integration
  • Work with offshore manufacturing partners to evaluate camera design, build prototypes, and qualify products
  • Lead failure analysis and corrective action implementation at manufacturing sites and remotely
Requirements
  • BS and prior experience in RGB color camera technology or related electronics industry
  • Ability to lead a multi-functional team of engineers and scientists
  • Ability to influence other teams, manage risk, and make decisions with limited information
  • Ability to communicate and convey ideas clearly and concisely
  • Familiarity with at least 3 of the following skills: design and tolerance analysis, electronic circuit and system design, understanding of geometric optics, image/depth sensor design, compact module manufacturing processes, failure analysis techniques, statistical analysis, data reporting, and visualization
