Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Onto Innovation Inc. as a Sr. Mechanical Engineer. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex electro-mechanical systems for the semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems using precision components and custom-designed components.
  • Perform design analysis, including tolerance analysis and finite element analysis, to ensure designs meet schedule, budget, and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver designs and participate in prototype builds, system-level characterization, validation, and compliance testing.
  • Provide technical support to sales and service teams to promote customer adoption and use of Rudolph Technologies products.
  • Communicate effectively with hardware and software team members to ensure seamless product development.
  • Apply design principles and ensure designs comply with SEMI, CE, FCC, UL, and other applicable standards.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in product development, with a strong background in mechanical design and analysis.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software and experience creating part and assembly drawings for production.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, including tolerance analysis, finite element analysis, and GD&T.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor wafer processing, defect inspection equipment, automated test equipment, and/or probe cards is a plus.
  • Knowledge of relevant compliance standards, such as SEMI, CE, UL, and CDRH, is a strong plus.
