About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Engineer to join our team at the Naval Foundry and Propeller Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serves as project engineer, responsible for emerging materials technological process and all aspects of materials engineering and chemistry.
  • Operations of the NFPC Materials and Chemical Laboratories.
  • Analysis/oversight of analysis of heat samples.
  • Perform complex technical calculations.
  • Identify economical and efficient procedures for casting and/or heat treatment of propellers, propulsor parts or other NFPC products.
  • Coordinating with various levels on NFPC personnel regarding technical issues and project objectives/schedules.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
  • Area of expertise should reside in Materials, Chemistry, Metallurgy or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of casting analysis, stress analysis and materials engineering.
  • Foundry experience preferred.
  • Security Clearance / Background Check required.
