Radiology Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute. As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in the coordination and performance of x-rays for patients, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images.
Key Responsibilities:- Position x-ray equipment and adjust controls to set exposure factors, such as time and distance.
- Use beam-restrictive devices and patient-shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
- Position patients on examining tables and set up and adjust equipment to obtain optimum views of specific body areas as requested by physicians.
- Process exposed radiographs using film processors or computer-generated methods.
- Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.
- Determine patients' x-ray needs by reading requests or instructions from physicians.
- Prepare and set up x-ray rooms for patients.
- Make exposures necessary for requested procedures, rejecting and repeating work that does not meet established standards.
- Operate digital picture archiving communications systems.
- Transport patients to and from exam rooms.
- Provide assistance to physicians or other technologists in the performance of more complex procedures.
- Operate Fluoroscopy equipment for procedures under supervision of physicians for joint injection procedures and special pain management procedures.
- Coordinate work of technologists when procedures require more than one person.
- Collect and maintain records of patients examined, examinations performed, patient medical histories, views taken, or technical factors used.
- Assure that sterile or non-sterile supplies, such as medications, supplies, or other required equipment, are present and in working order.
- Complete quality control activities, monitor equipment operation, and report malfunctioning equipment to supervisors.
- Maintain current files of examination protocols.
- Provide other technologists with suggestions of additional views, alternate positioning, or improved techniques to ensure images produced are of the highest quality.
- Assist with on-the-job training of new employees or provide input to supervisors regarding training performance.
- Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
- Minimum of one year experience in a healthcare organization.
- Minimum High School Degree.
- Current X-ray Certification/license required.
