Job Title: Material Handler I Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Material Handler I Specialist to join our team at Volt in Smyrna, TN.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is $21.50 per hour, based on the location and industry standards.

About the Role:
  • This is a full-time contract opportunity with 12+ months duration.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Efficiency: Utilize various tools including manual/electric/pneumatic tools, fork truck (including stand-up), jib crane, templates/fixtures, hand carts, measuring devices, and prescribed safety equipment to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Inventory Management: Read production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority.
  • Material Identification: Examine material received, verify part numbers, and check discrepancies, such as damaged or unmarked parts.
  • Labeling and Organization: Label all racks, part bins, and shelves in storage areas and work cells to ensure accurate tracking and organization.
  • Inventory Scanning: Use inventory scanning system to scan into/out of locations.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • The employee must be able to lift/carry up to 40 pounds regularly.
  • Frequent use of hand tools such as manual, battery, and pneumatic tools with varying degrees of force and vibration is required.
