Position Title: Day Service Technician

Position Overview: The Day Service Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of all facility equipment, executing project tasks, and assisting with snow removal duties. Adhering to safety protocols is paramount, and the role may require flexibility in working hours, including potential overtime. This position operates on a SECOND Shift schedule.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing minor repairs such as changing light bulbs, replacing ceiling tiles, patching drywall, painting, and conducting basic plumbing and electrical work as needed. Assisting Maintenance Mechanics and participating in grounds and snow removal activities.
  • Operating equipment such as tow motors and aerial lifts as required. Completing additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
  • Maintaining accurate records related to job duties, managing inventory of supplies and tools, and ensuring a clean and organized workspace. Keeping track of spare parts and maintenance materials.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Certification and training to operate a fork truck.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines, operating instructions, and procedural manuals. Capable of writing reports and communicating effectively with team members.
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Competencies:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate powered and non-powered equipment safely.
  • Capability to perform tasks at heights and on ladders.
  • Effective communication skills for interaction with colleagues and supervisors.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires regular standing, walking, and the use of hands for handling tools and equipment. The technician must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Vision requirements include the ability to see at various distances and to focus on detailed tasks.

Work Environment:

The technician will be exposed to mechanical hazards and electrical risks. Occasional exposure to adverse weather conditions, high places, and potentially hazardous materials may occur. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
