Position Overview:
The Day Service Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of all facility equipment, executing project tasks, and assisting with snow removal duties. This role emphasizes safety and requires flexibility in working hours, including potential overtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, hanging artwork, replacing fixtures, assembling shelving units, setting up meeting spaces, and delivering packages. Conduct minor repairs including ceiling tile replacement, drywall patching, painting, and basic plumbing and electrical work as needed.
- Operate tow motors and aerial lifts as required, while completing additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Maintain accurate records related to maintenance activities, manage inventory of supplies and tools, and ensure a clean and organized workspace.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
- Certification and training to operate a fork truck are mandatory.
- Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Competence in basic arithmetic operations.
Core Competencies:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with various teams.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Physical capability to perform tasks that include lifting, climbing, and operating various maintenance equipment.
Physical Requirements:
This position involves regular standing, walking, and manual dexterity. The technician must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally handle heavier loads. Vision requirements include the ability to see at varying distances and to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The technician will work in environments that may include exposure to mechanical parts, electrical hazards, and varying weather conditions. The noise level may be elevated.
