Position Title: Day Service Technician
Role Overview: The Day Service Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of facility equipment, executing project tasks, and assisting with snow removal duties. A strong emphasis on safety is paramount, and flexibility in working hours, including potential overtime, is required for team support. This role operates on a SECOND Shift schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing fixtures, assembling shelving units, setting up meeting spaces, and delivering packages. Conduct minor repairs including ceiling tile replacements, drywall patching, painting, and basic plumbing and electrical work as needed. Assist in grounds maintenance and snow removal as necessary.
- Operate powered equipment such as tow motors and aerial lifts as required. Complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to maintenance activities. Organize and manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the work area. Track spare parts and materials for maintenance tasks.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
- Certification and training to operate a fork truck are mandatory.
- Ability to read and understand safety protocols, maintenance instructions, and procedural documents. Capable of writing routine reports and effectively communicating with team members.
- Proficient in basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Competencies:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate a fork lift and other maintenance equipment.
- Capacity to follow instructions in various formats, including written and verbal.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively across different teams.
- Comfortable performing tasks at heights and using ladders.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires regular standing, walking, and using hands for various tasks. The employee must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Vision capabilities required include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, along with depth perception.
Work Environment:
Employees in this role may encounter moving mechanical parts and potential electrical hazards. Exposure to varying weather conditions, humidity, and noise levels is common.
