The Security Officer is a critical member of the Trinity Health team, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of hospital employees, patients, families, visitors, and property. This role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide security services to hospital employees, patients, families, visitors, and property, including patrolling hospital grounds and responding to security incidents.
- Conduct fire prevention and initial response measures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain safety practices in the area of assignment, including identifying and reporting potential safety hazards.
- Enforce hospital policies and procedures, including those related to access control, parking, and visitor management.
- Collaborate with other hospital departments to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, families, and visitors.
- Respond to emergency situations, including medical emergencies, fires, and other incidents that may require immediate attention.
- Provide excellent customer service to hospital employees, patients, families, and visitors, including responding to their concerns and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Valid motor vehicle license required with satisfactory driving record.
- Minimum of 1 year of security experience required.
- Ability to work all rotating shifts as needed.
- Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Possess the ability to deal tactfully with co-workers, patients, and visitors.
- Perform alone or as a team member in the management of aggressive or violent behavior through non-abusive physical intervention.
- 1-2 years of prior hospital experience preferred.
- Act 235 Certification preferred.
