Job Summary

The Product Development Director will lead the development and execution of our product ecommerce business within our established multi-unit retail concept. This role requires a confident self-starter who can create new systems and enhance current processes from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish relationships with co-manufacturers to transition current solution and retail product business.
  • Collaborate with the executive team, operations, and marketing to develop new and innovative products.
  • Project manage supply chain and product lifecycle, from conception to sourcing materials, managing contract manufacturers, and shelving products in our shops.
  • Forecast product sell-through and replenishment needs for ecommerce and in-store, establishing goals and KPIs for in-store retail penetration and online sales.
  • Set up 3PL relationships for DTC and in-house fulfillment.
  • Work with formulators to develop new products.
  • Determine product pricing and positioning strategies by conducting market research, reviewing production and sales costs, and anticipating volume.
  • Partner with the marketing team on packaging design, sampling programs, in-store merchandising needs, marketing materials, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Work with operations to provide new product knowledge and education for staff.
  • Grow Google Shopping and Amazon as 3rd party retail channels.
Requirements
  • 5-7+ years of experience in creating scalable systems within a fast-growing cosmetic company.
  • A motivated self-starter who is comfortable with autonomy and committed to making business decisions that benefit the company and the end consumer.
  • Experience working with manufacturers in the beauty industry (or related).
  • Experience with specialty beauty and big box retailers preferred.
