Position Title: Payroll Coordinator

Role Summary: The Payroll Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the bi-weekly payroll process for a workforce of up to 175 employees. This position involves onboarding new staff and providing training on our financial systems. The coordinator will also oversee data entry and employee contribution tracking for our 403(b) retirement plan, as well as manage changes in employee benefits and payroll status. Maintaining accurate payroll records and generating reports for management and audits are essential responsibilities of this role. The Payroll Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Finance and collaborate within a small Finance Office team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Finance team and various departments on payroll-related matters.
  • Ensure timely and precise processing of bi-weekly payrolls.
  • Verify and monitor electronic timecards and supervisor approvals.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of new employees, including the collection of payroll documentation and education on policies.
  • Review and correct computed wages to guarantee accuracy in earnings.
  • Maintain comprehensive payroll records and employee files.
  • Administer the 403(b) plan, ensuring timely contributions and addressing employee inquiries.
  • Respond promptly to unemployment claims.
  • Prepare payroll and management reports for audits and respond to employment verification requests.
  • Accurately enter and manage wage garnishments, deductions, and accruals.
  • Reconcile payroll bank statements and verify payroll deductions.
  • Address employee inquiries and requests with professionalism.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and trust standards.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a payroll coordinator role.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Commitment to the mission and objectives of L.e.a.p. Inc.
  • Proficiency in payroll and bookkeeping software, particularly ADP Payroll and QuickBooks, is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and general office software.
  • Strong presentation skills are a plus.

Compensation: Salary range is $48,000 - $52,000.
