Job Summary

The Patient Service Representative plays a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our healthcare team. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for greeting patients, managing appointments, and handling various administrative tasks with precision and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients and families by providing prompt and courteous service.
  2. Manage patient visits, appointments, and diagnostic testing schedules using hospital procedures and resources.
  3. Collect co-pays and manage third-party payors, ensuring accurate and timely payment processing.
  4. Perform various administrative tasks, including faxing, copying, filing, and mailings, while maintaining a high level of organization and productivity.
  5. Ensure the front desk area is clean and well-maintained, reflecting positively on our hospital's image.
  6. Participate in cross-coverage efforts and provide support to colleagues as needed.
  7. Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain confidentiality in all patient interactions.


Requirements

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in a general office setting or healthcare environment preferred.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
  3. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software.
