Job Summary

As a Dining Services Manager with Compass Group USA, you will oversee the operations of a medium to large volume dining service, ensuring exceptional customer experiences and high-quality food service. Your responsibilities will include managing a team of food service professionals, maintaining interdepartmental relations, and integrating the dining service department with the facility plan of operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee dining services operations, ensuring seamless execution of meal services in a seated dining room setting.
  • Manage a team of food service professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service and high-quality food preparation.
  • Maintain interdepartmental relations, fostering collaboration with other departments to ensure smooth operations and exceptional customer experiences.
  • Assist with profit and loss management, budgeting, and financial reporting to ensure the dining service department meets its financial goals.
  • Work closely with the Chef and management team to create menus, develop new culinary programs, and ensure top-quality food service.
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly reports for client presentation, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring the dining service department operates efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • 2 years of food service management experience, preferably in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, healthcare, or related food service operations.
  • Experience in waitressing, catering, and food preparation is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of food and catering trends, including quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and communication skills.
  • Financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills, with proficiency in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
  • ServSafe Certification is preferred, and an Associate's degree is highly desirable.
