Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Public Health Science Instructor to join our adjunct faculty pool. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of Public Health Science courses, including Introduction to Public Health, Personal Health and Wellness, Drugs Health and Society, and Social Justice and Health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a variety of Public Health Science courses, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats
  • Develop and revise curriculum to ensure it is current and relevant
  • Assess student learning outcomes and program level outcomes
  • Participate in student recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges, and universities
  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Health Science, Health Education, Biology, Nursing, Physical Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Dietetics, Nutrition, or Public Health
  • OR Bachelor's degree in any of the above fields and Master's degree in any biological science
  • OR The equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain subject matter currency
  • Ability to assess student learning outcomes
  • Knowledge of computers and willingness to explore new technologies
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the California community college mission
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching Public Health Science courses
  • Experience developing and revising curriculum
  • Experience assessing student learning outcomes
  • Experience participating in student recruitment and articulation activities
