Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled EKG Technician to join our team at Owensboro Health. As an EKG Technician, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic electrocardiograms (EKGs), monitoring patient placement, and conducting stress testing while providing patient education associated with studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attach electrode leads to proper body areas based on ordered tests and prepare skin and surroundings to ensure valid results.
  • Obtain and document EKG readings as directed and program monitors and register patients online depending on the ordered monitor.
  • Monitor patients during procedures and report any abnormal findings, identify and correct artifacts, and note and forward results to physicians for analysis and interpretation.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies and monitor and process EKGs in the EKG software and the electronic medical record (EMR).
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher preferred.
  • No experience required, but Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as a healthcare provider is required within 90 days of employment.
