Cardiac Technician

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Technician to join our team at Owensboro Health. As a Cardiac Technician, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic electrocardiograms (EKGs), monitoring patient vital signs, and providing exceptional patient care.

• Attach electrode leads to patients and prepare skin and surroundings for valid EKG results
• Obtain and document EKG readings as directed by physicians
• Program monitors and register patients online for ordered tests
• Monitor patients during procedures and report any abnormal findings
• Maintain equipment and supplies, and process EKGs in the EKG software and electronic medical record (EMR)

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• No experience necessary, but Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of employment
• Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment required

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. You must be able to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with patients and colleagues.

• Frequent standing, walking, and lifting 0-25 lbs
• Rarely lifting 25-75 lbs and carrying 0-25 lbs
• Frequent pushing/pulling 0-25 lbs and repetitive hand/arm movements
