Environmental Planner 1 Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect, analyze, and manage project-related data for environmental science and planning-related studies
  • Review mapping (GIS/CAD), studies, and regulations, and assist in preparing environmental compliance documents
  • Participate in public/client meetings and assist in preparing meeting materials
  • Prepare, plan, and analyze/review technical studies, permit applications, NEPA documents, and similar reports/documents
  • Assist senior staff in environmental task assignments
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in urban or regional planning preferred
  • Experience with environmental analysis, CEQA, or NEPA
  • Experience working with Transportation and Transit agencies, including Caltrans
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Resources, or Planning
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
  • Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills
  • Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving, and research abilities

Compensation: The expected compensation range for this position depends on skills, experience, education, and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) {Pay Transparency Location1}: $67,000 - $87,000
