Position Summary:
The National Yard Operations Manager, under the guidance of the Head of Operations in the USA, is responsible for enhancing and managing effective yard operations throughout DOKA USA's stockyards. This role encompasses logistics, reconditioning, pre-assembly, hydraulics, machinery, and inventory oversight, with a strong emphasis on on-site engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and rectify inefficiencies in yard processes.
  • Collaborate with Branch Operations to formulate their One-Year Plans (OYP) and translate them into actionable yard operations objectives using SMART criteria.
  • Lead national initiatives such as "Always Inventory Ready" and "Accelerated Return Processing," while tracking App usage KPIs and aiding the National Operations Team in digitalization efforts.
  • Conduct monthly quality self-assessments (YQC app) and perform regular audits to uphold material quality standards.
  • Identify and propose enhancements for product portfolio optimization and support strategic organizational decisions.
  • Educate yard operations and logistics teams on the fundamentals of DISCOS, linking physical movements to system entries for superior inventory management.
  • Ensure adherence to DOKA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across branches, including managing recurring adjustment bookings and assisting with inventory counts.
  • Travel to various branch locations to oversee reconditioning, return processing, and order fulfillment as necessary.
  • Encourage budget awareness and its integration into yard operations decision-making.
  • Monitor pre-assembly production metrics across branches and maintain a centralized database for enhanced capacity planning.
  • Manage the Certify Welder Program, ensuring compliance with quality and process standards.
  • Provide insights and data for Operational Jour Fixe meetings to discuss potential improvements and advocate for yard operations needs.
  • Develop a systematic task list for yard operations leadership and mentor branches based on their operational maturity.
  • Implement and oversee instructions from Group Management regarding process changes and material quality.
  • Maintain records for the forklift and truck fleet to assist in investment planning.
  • Work closely with the Safety Manager USA to ensure all personnel are trained and certified in equipment operation and task execution, reinforcing a culture of safety.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Frequent travel is required, with extended stays at branch locations to support material management and workflow.
  • Engage in facility and equipment management meetings as necessary.
  • Participate in various projects and committees as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma is required; a degree in Engineering, Economics, or Business is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in the industrial, commercial, construction, or building material sectors is essential.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and deliver results with minimal oversight.
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills are necessary to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of building/safety codes and OSHA regulations is required.
  • Flexibility to lead and engage in hands-on tasks as needed.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a strong command of English; proficiency in Spanish or German is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential.
  • Willingness to learn new products, concepts, and techniques is expected.
