In this role, the EDI Manager will focus on designing, improving, and overseeing EDI workflows while mentoring and guiding a team of three specialists who handle many of the daily tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to create scalable processes and empower their team to execute these efficiently. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, along with a deep understanding of EDI technology, testing, and deployment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Development: Design, implement, and continuously improve scalable processes to support a small team managing a large number of EDI links. Ensure procedures are clear, documented, and adaptable to the team's needs.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of three EDI specialists, providing guidance, training, and support as they carry out day-to-day EDI tasks. Ensure the team is equipped to handle issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Workflow Optimization: Identify inefficiencies or inadequacies in our current EDI operations and develop solutions to optimize team and system performance and improve the speed and accuracy of EDI transactions.
  • Testing & Deployment Oversight: Oversee the development and execution of proper testing protocols, ensuring successful deployment of new EDI links and upgrades. Guide the team through validation processes with trading partners.
  • Monitoring & Issue Escalation: While your team will handle most routine tasks, you will monitor overall system performance, step in when high-level issues arise, and ensure quick resolution of escalated EDI problems.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Facilitate strong communication between the EDI and development teams to ensure smooth integration and alignment on projects and partner requirements.
  • Performance Reporting: Create and publish metrics that assess the team's performance, identify areas for process improvement, and ensure EDI operations are meeting business goals.
  • Partner Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for high-level EDI communications, ensuring clear, consistent communication with key trading partners on new implementations, changes, and major issues.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Experience in EDI management, with a proven track record of developing processes and managing a team. Strong leadership and mentoring skills with experience overseeing a team and delegating tasks effectively.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of EDI standards (ANSI X12) and protocols, mapping, and integration tools. Ability to translate business requirements into actionable technical tasks for the team.
  • Process-Oriented: Expertise in creating and refining workflows that improve efficiency and scalability for EDI operations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex EDI issues, with an emphasis on guiding the team in handling day-to-day challenges.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail in process development, reporting, and issue resolution.
