Our physicians are board-certified ophthalmologists, having completed an additional two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery, specializing in diseases of the retina, macula, and vitreous. With a robust team of six MDs and multiple locations, we are committed to providing exemplary care.
Position Summary:
The Patient Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in delivering outstanding patient service, both face-to-face and via telephone. This position involves interviewing patients and their representatives to gather comprehensive and precise demographic, financial, and insurance details necessary for billing and account management. The Coordinator will perform various clerical and patient service tasks essential for maintaining smooth operations within the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exhibit a high degree of professionalism while providing exceptional customer service.
- Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information for accuracy.
- Confirm insurance details and collect copayments, co-insurance, and outstanding balances.
- Ensure all patient intake documentation is completed and signed.
- Manage patient communication channels, including multiple phone lines and messaging platforms.
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently.
- Process medical record requests in accordance with established policies.
- Collaborate with surgical staff to guarantee an optimal patient experience.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Certificate.
Required Skills:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office or healthcare environment.
- At least 2 years of experience with healthcare insurance.
- Proficient computer skills with a typing speed of at least 30 WPM.
- A strong commitment to assisting others and delivering excellent customer service.
- Highly dependable and organized.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- A polished and professional appearance.
- Ability to learn quickly, retain training, and solve problems independently.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with medical terminology.
