We are seeking a highly skilled Education Coordinator to join our team at Texas Children's Hospital. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in managing interdisciplinary clinical learning and performance improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and implement learning interventions that facilitate application of learning in the workplace, as measured by participant feedback and peer and supervisor observation.
- Demonstrate effective presentation skills and provide educational programs that are consistently relevant to the target audience's job duties, based on principles of adult learners.
- Ensure that measurable learning objectives are demonstrated for all continuing educational programs and coordinate or facilitate the coordination of the implementation of cost-effective learning interventions/modules.
- Provide classroom learning facilitation that provides for the application of key learning concepts into practice, as measured by participant feedback and peer and supervisor observation.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of learning interventions/modules and compile and report findings along with appropriate next steps, as measured by participant feedback, manager feedback, cost worksheets, and/or peer and supervisor observation and performance outcomes.
- Ensure 80% of post-program reports indicate that the program objectives were met and document and report outcomes of learning interventions/modules, demonstrating continuous improvements in outcomes as measured by peer and supervisor observation.
- Plan, design, develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate departmental and interdisciplinary learning interventions to meet priority learning needs and demonstrate an improvement in performance.
- Demonstrate positive and effective interpersonal skills when dealing with patients/families, visitors, peers, and other healthcare team members.
- Collaborate with content experts to develop the curriculum scope and form a partnership with the leadership team and staff to improve performance gaps identified through performance improvement data and other data, as measured by management feedback and supervisor observation.
- Individualize orientee's initial orientation plan based on orientee's identified learning needs as indicated and collaborate with stakeholders and leaders across the system regarding the preceptor program.
- Prioritize and delegate effectively, as evidenced by completion of required activities within designated timelines with minimal supervision.
- Serve as the coordinator for student and learner placements for the various healthcare and allied health schools.
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Nursing, RN - Lic-Registered Nurses by the Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact, and BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association within two (2) months of entering the position and maintained thereafter.
- Preferred: BLS-I - Cert-BLS Instructor American Heart Association and 3 years Clinical nursing experience and/or Department of Rehabilitative Services (DARS) experience.
