Position Summary:
The Patient Services Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring exceptional patient experiences, both in-person and via phone. This position involves interviewing patients and their representatives to gather complete and accurate demographic, financial, and insurance information necessary for billing and account management. The Coordinator performs various clerical and patient service tasks essential for maintaining an efficient workflow in the medical facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit a high level of professionalism while delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information for accuracy.
  • Confirm insurance details and collect copays, co-insurance, and outstanding balances.
  • Ensure all patient intake forms are duly signed and completed.
  • Manage patient communication channels, including multiple phone lines and messaging systems.
  • Schedule patient appointments effectively.
  • Process medical record requests in accordance with established policies.
  • Collaborate with surgical staff to enhance the patient experience.

Qualifications:

Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Certificate.

Required Skills:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office or healthcare environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience with healthcare insurance.
  • Proficient computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 30 WPM.
  • A strong commitment to assisting others and providing excellent customer service.
  • Highly dependable and organized.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • A polished and professional appearance.
  • The ability to learn quickly, retain training, and solve problems independently.

Preferred Skills:
Understanding of medical terminology.
