Crisis Support Specialist

Role Summary:
This role, under the guidance of the Hotline Supervisor, entails managing a 24-hour support line and overseeing Shelter and Transitional Housing operations. The Crisis Support Specialist is responsible for conducting both telephonic and face-to-face assessments for individuals experiencing domestic violence who are seeking refuge, while also providing assistance to shelter residents. Furthermore, collaboration with Emergency Shelter personnel is essential to ensure that services are delivered in accordance with trauma-informed practices and voluntary protocols.
Work Schedule:
Thursday: 10 AM - 6:30 PM
Friday and Saturday: 6:30 AM - 3 PM
Sunday and Monday: 2:30 PM - 11 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Hotline operations and Emergency Shelter functions during assigned hours
- Respond to hotline inquiries and deliver crisis intervention and resource referrals
- Conduct assessments and intakes via phone and at the Emergency Shelter
- Provide individualized crisis support and intervention as necessary
- Assist clients with daily living activities and conduct regular house checks
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of college coursework in a human services discipline or equivalent professional experience
- Preferred qualifications include an Associate or Bachelor's degree
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is mandatory
- Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques, trauma-informed care, and support methodologies
